Hi, I'm Sarah Joy,
A mother, wife, nature-lover, and storyteller at heart. I’m a Rockhampton family and lifestyle photographer, and I’m drawn to the quiet beauty of real moments - the way sunlight dances through gum trees, the calm of a newborn asleep on your chest, or the joy in a child’s unguarded laughter.
My journey into photography didn’t begin in a studio. It began in the wild, on hiking trails, fishing trips, and around campfires under the stars.
How I got here
When my son was just nine months old, we packed up our lives into a caravan and hit the road. As we travelled through Australia’s amazing landscapes, I was capturing my small little family in these amazing places. Something within me shifted, I felt pulled toward capturing not just scenery, but the real, emotional connection between people - especially those I love. Now that he is older he looks at these photos on the wall recalling the tree dad hit when reversing, or the big storm we endured on the dramatic cliffs of the Nullarbor. He was only one, how could he remember? But the photos take you back, we talk about the stories on our walls constantly, there is memory there.
Now, I help families, couples and mothers preserve memories in a way that feels grounded and true. Capture the memories they want on their walls to tell years from now. My sessions are about presence, not perfection. No stiff posing, no expectations. Just you, your people, and the honest beauty of connection.

Photography is more than a profession, it's a personal journey of growth, emotion and deep appreciation. I love connecting with people, learning your story and the moments you want to remember forever. I believe your story deserves to be told with heart.
